Understanding Import Duties

Duties and taxes are set by the customs authority of the destination country, not by KDX. Here is what each line on your invoice means.

Import duty

A percentage of the declared value of the goods. The rate depends on the product's tariff classification (HTS code) and its country of origin. Some goods are duty-free.

Customs fees and taxes

Fees charged by customs to process the entry, such as the U.S. Merchandise Processing Fee, and any taxes due on imported goods at destination.

Clearance and handling

Our fee for preparing and filing the customs entry and the documents that go with it. It is always shown on its own line.
